The event was attended by delegations from 20 countries. In a stiff struggle, EMERCOM men's and women's teams won 45 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 15 bronze medals, and were declared champions.
Roman Vagner, a master of sports from the Chelyabinsk region, was enrolled in the team. Roman was named champion in a double event for individuals and won a bronze medal in the 100 meter obstacle course. «Firesports are technically difficult," said the champion. "Having natural talent is great, but one needs to work hard and continuously improve skills to achieve success.»
The Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovskiy highly appreciated the contribution made by Roman Vagner and other team members into firesport development and healthy lifestyle promotion: «Russia has an emergency protection system staffed with strong and courageous people. Life and safety of many people depends on your team work and reaction rate. High physical fitness is a professional attribute of rescuers. Existing longer than fifty years, the South Ural firefighters team has its traditions and school. You've restored the team back to its former glory and gained a reputation of one of the strongest Russian teams. Due to your success, the Chelyabinsk region was ranked among top three regions and hosted the 2015 EMERCOM Firefighters Championships again. I think that this is a prominent sign that your achievements have been recognized.»
