Boris Aleksandrovich Dubrovsky
Governor of the Chelyabinsk region
Born in Magnitogorsk (the Chelyabinsk region) on November 22, 1958,
Boris Dubrovskiy graduated with distinction from Magnitogorsk State Technical University (major in “Metal Forming”) and in 2001, was awarded a second university degree (major in “Enterprise and Organization Management”).
Upon graduation in 1976, he was employed by Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works where Boris Dubrovskiy started on the shop floor and worked his way up to the Director. In 2000, he was promoted to the Deputy Commercial Director, and two years later Boris Dubrovskiy became a Technical Director - Chief Engineer of OJSC MMK.
In 2002-2003, in addition to his other duties he held the post of the General Director of OJSC MMK-METIZ.
In 2003-2008, Boris Dubrovskiy worked as a Sales Director and Executive Director of OJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works.
In 2009-May, 2011, he held the post of the First Deputy General Director of OJSC "Research and production corporation "UralVagonZavod".
In May, 2011, his career culminated as a General Director and Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works.
On January 15, 2014, by the Order of the RF President Boris Aleksandrovich Dubrovskiy was appointed as an Acting Governor of the Chelyabinsk region.
Boris Aleksandrovich Dubrovskiy was awarded a medal of the Order of Merit for the Motherland, II degree (2003), Medal of Honor (2012) and a Decoration of Merit for the Chelyabinsk Region (2013).
Married, has a daughter.
