“Unichel” footwear factory is one of the largest footwear manufacturers in Russia. The shoemaker and tailor shop was set up in Chelyabinsk in 1932. As early as 1937 “Kozhobyv” (“Leather Footwear”) industrial cooperative artel appeared, the factory was set up based on the artel and a factory evacuated from Kharkov in 1941.
Chelyabinsk “Unichel” is a well-known brand because it is presented in the well-developed chain of boutiques in the cities of the Urals and Siberia. Today “Unichel” has representative offices in more than 30 regions of the country.
The quality of products manufactured by the factory is controlled by the only state-certified lab in the Urals authorized to issue quality certificates for footwear.
On the one hand, “Unichel” invests into quality; on the other hand it backs up its production infrastructure development and trade chain. Today the company is a vertically-integrated holding, in 2000 “Unichel” purchased the assets of “Ural” Orenburg footwear factory and “Zlato” factory from Zlatoust becoming their majority shareholder.
